Team Cornwall Opens the Door to the A-TV Morning Show in Ottawa
Team Cornwall Chairman Gilles Latour has helped secure us a spot on the number one morning show in Ottawa - the A-TV Morning Show with Kurt Stoodley! We will be on air sometime between 7 am and 8 am on Monday April 26. There will be some tickets to the Ottawa show up for grabs! Team Cornwall members have also been asked to help spread the word that the film will be debuting across the country in 16 theatres.

Mayor Kilger Rolls Out the Red Carpet
Mayor Kilger will be hosting our Ottawa premiere on Wednesay April 28 at the SilverCity in Gloucester. He, along with MP Guy Lauzon, have sent out invitations to the Ottawa show to a variety of VIPs... we'll keep you posted if we have any confirmations. Mayor Kilger has also invited the Fishrizzo team to City Council this Monday night ...catch us on TV Cogeco!

Standard-Freeholder Helps Out!
Andrew Carroll is a great guy. The managing editor of the Standard-Freholder took the time to send a personal note to his colleagues at sister newspapers in several cities to help draw attention to our "national debut" on April 28. Then Kathleen Hay, the entertainment reporter for our favourite daily, wrote the following article... lets hope it gets picked up by the wire! Thanks Andrews and Kathleen!

Positive Reviews in the Big City
The Toronto premiere was a big success. We had a sizeable crowd (over 100) join us and our special guests: actress Geri Hall, comedian Rick Green and musician Dave Borins - all of whom are featured in the film. No technical problems this night - it was interesting to see the small differences in the crowd's reaction to various scenes in the movie. We had people drive in from as far away as Rochester NY, Cornwall, Barrie and Oakville. Everybody in attendance received a copy of the Spirit of a City compilation CD featuring Cornwall musicians as a special bonus. Immediately after the show we gathered for a small celebration and to give everybody a chance to meet Geri, Rick and Dave. Steam Whistle Brewery and Huff Estates Winery supplied the beverages. You can see some photos of the night by clicking here

Cornwall Premiere Sells Out!
The Cornwall premiere sold-out - in a big way. A slight ticket mix-up left one or two people watching the film standing up. What a great show of support - Thanks Cornwall! Although we had a few minor technical glitches, including a ghost in the blueray, our hometown crowd was very accommodating. We were very pleased with the positive reviews and truly appreciate the kind words. T-shirts were a big hit. The party continued on afterwards at local restaurant Schnitzels. Its hard to single out any special guests in the crowd over 300, but a special thanks goes out to Mayor Bob Kilger, Karen Brunet of Huff Estates and musician Eric Willison of the Shiners (their new song 10 Days Across Canada is featured in the movie). We also never get tired of thanking the City, Team Cornwall and other sponsors for their support of the project since day one.

Cineplex - A Great Canadian Company
Here is another quick update about the film - and an introduction to a great Canadian partner. We're currently negotiating to have 10 Days Across Canada shown in theatres throughout the Cineplex theatre network. It would be an understatement to say that we are excited. The folks at Cineplex have been absolutely fantastic to work with - they truly support Canadian film making and are willing to assist independent projects like ours. Stay tuned for the big announcement - we looking at an April launch.

February Update!
We're hard at work editing the movie - only 11 days left to finish according to our self-imposed deadline. Lots going on and all people involved are frantically working to finish! Our sponsors and fans continue to support and encourage us - thanks everyone!

Back Safe and Sound
it was a long haul but worth every minute. We met alot of great people on our travels - to all who supported us - thank you, thank you, thank you! For most of the crew, this was not only their biggest trip ever - it was also the longest they have been away from their families. We're still great friends, but once we got back to Cornwall we went our separate ways pretty quickly. Of course, there's the hours and hours of film to review and many long nights of editing ahead of us.

We're On Our Way
Our bags are packed... we're ready to go....  10 provinces and 3 terrritories in 10 days! John, Frank, Ron and Jamie are geared up and excited that the project is finally here. Keep tuned for more news from the road!

Sponsors Rally to Support 10 Days Project!
With their trip only days away, the cast/crew of 10 Days Cross Canada are thrilled with the recent support they've received from both local and national sponsors. To date we have welcomed Ramada Worldwide, Huff Estates, Indie Guitars, Longevity Acrylics, Dynamic Closures, SigmaPoint Technologies, The City of Cornwall, Team Cornwall, Guindon-MacLean-Castle, and Vuk Kovinich. The financial support has helped us realize our dream of making this movie. Without the much needed financial support we'd get as far as Brockville and perhaps Quebec City.

Other supporters of the project have been the publicity teams at Penguin Books and Diamondfield Entertainment for helping us line up much of the Canadian celebrities that we've had the pleasure of interviewing to date before the trip, as well as those who will talk with along the way.

And to those who have primed the well on micro sponsorships, we thank you for your generosity and support.

Sarah from Little Mosque on the Prairie talks to 10 Days on Monday!

Our cross Canada project just jumped to a whole other level with the addition of Canadian Acting Legend Sheila McCarthy. The team will be interviewing McCarthy on the set of the CBC hit television show "Little Mosque on the Prairie". McCarthy plays the role of Sarah Hamoudi on the show, a woman who converts to Islam to marry her true love Yasir. She's won 2 Genie awards for film, 2 Gemini Awards for television, and 2 Dora awards for theater. The team is extremely excited to meet this icon of the Canadian stage and screen and welcomes her to the project.

Huff Estates Joins as a sponsor!

Welcome HUFF ESTATES WINERY!.... Our mission just became a lot tastier today as Huff Estates have come on board as a sponsor. In addition to much needed cash, owner Lanny Huff has opened the doors to the winery for shooting and will be supplying the celebratory sparkling wines for the end of film celebration. Have you checked out Huff Estates lately? http://www.huffestates.ca/

The City Of Cornwall and Team Cornwall Support the Cause!

Both the Corporation of the City of Cornwall and Team Cornwall have signed on as sponsors for the project. Both organizations recognize the value of the project, as the film begins and ends in the city of Cornwall, and all members of the cast/crew are Cornwall natives. The funding helped make the project a reality and both groups are also working to help promote the project outside the city. Team Cornwall Chairman Gilles Latour summed up the projects importance in this statement: "We have made the decision (to support the project) because we believe this movie project is, at its heart, an incredible external marketing opportunity for Cornwall. John Earle and his team will be travelling across the country, acting as ambassadors as they meet celebrities and everyday people. They will be handing out Team Cornwall cards wherever they go."
